Cigar makers have been selling cigars in tubes for many years. I have never heard of so many issues as with this brand. JMHO but when you pay the prices for these ,there should not be so many bad ones.

I had a miami ff explode midway but managed to correct itself. The weather has been too cold for cigars, which makes for problems. The problems with the red tubo is that they got held up in transit. I would let the 1st waive rest for at least 8 weeks before lighting. The 2nd waive were in much better shape.

Held up in transit? It just never ends. Wasn't that the issue with the Drac boxes? Thats why they had the varnish smell. Or was it held up in production? To many logistacal problems that leed to wasted money for BOTL's. I don't know about you guys but I cannot afford to buy something that is a crap shoot. I was so close to giving this brand a 4th chance. I am so glad that I did not buy into the hype.

Ive had both a red and black, the eds I have are a bit banged up but smokable. the blacks are fine, i dry boxeda black for about 4 days and it smoked fine. the red smoked perfect, right now i give the red the lead, but in time im sure the black will win outright, the red one was delicious now though.

1) The Verocu wrapper has always been pretty fragile, even on the older ones (not as bad as the Guapos, but fragile)

2) A lot of the Tubos have had humidity issues. I was told that Pete held up shipments for a while recently in order to uncap and humidor them (can humidor be a verb?) for a few weeks to try to stabilize them.

I haven't had one yet (too cold here), but have been storing mine with the caps off for now. I figure by the time it warms up enough to have one they should be ready to go. Most reports I've heard on these Reds though is that they are GOOOOOD! I'm really excited, as the West/East are literally my favorite cigars on this planet.
Yep.

Take your cigars OUT of the tubes, leave them in your humi at 65% for 2 weeks, and you will have no problems (although as said above, the wrappers on the Verocu cigars are ALL fairly fragile....)

The drac was a huge disappointment.
blacks seem wet and need to rest to hopefully improve.
The red I smoked was from second wave and it was a fabulous smoke. I have a couple more resting that I am looking fwd to smoking, no wrapper issues or burn issues with the one I had.

My shipment of blacks and reds from NHC this week all look good. One of the reds had a patch on it, but otherwise all seems well. I wasn't going to smoke any in the near future, so they will be getting many weeks of rest before one is touched.

I haven't smoked any of my reds or blacks. Opened both boxes, removed them all from their tubes and placed them in the humi. They are resting for a while. I still have not smoked any from my Drac or Frank boxes either. I want to be sure they all rest for a while with hopes that I don't have any burning issues.

Yep, I had the same happened when I smoke one. As soon as I took it out of the tube I could tell it was dry. I let it sit in my mouth for a bit and then clipped it, it still split. It split the whole way through.

Sorry I meant Boris. I only have a half box of Franks and those are all mine :eyebrow:
Not mad at ya Boss. those Franks are great sticks. I have lots of Boris and Dracs. Boris isn't bad. Had a Drac with two months rest and it seems to be getting better

Bought five of each, some at a local B&M and some online. The Reds are killing me because the original Verocu are killer sticks, but the 2 I've smoked have been terrible. After the second I removed then from the tubes wrapped them in some unused cigar tissue and they will be resting for a VERY long time. I feel used. I get so excited for these releases and love Tats. I drove from Portland to Seattle to meet Pete at a store up there, but it's been soooo disappointing these past few months. Blacks are going into at least a yearlong slumber.

I have smoked BOXES of east coast and west coast with only one stick that had a problem and I chalk that up to how it was stored. Smoked a few Drac's now and they were all good, no issues. I smoked four black tubos, while they were hard to keep lit, no other issues. No red tubos because, well I have the originals. All of these sticks were stabilized in my humi for a least a month. Cigars are fragile. They take care when handling. I hope you guys have better luck because these are very good smokes. Hate to hear about cigars splitting from over humidification or rapid climate change.

Guys, we are seeing hairline cracks from shipping. Please inspect your cigars when you buy them. The cracks are very hard to see before lighting and expand when lit. If you see any damage that concerns you, the first rule is to return them to the retailer for an exchange or refund. I will make good on any Tubo cigar that is uncut and unsmoked.

If you smoked it and had a problem, I'm sorry. Hit me up for a free stick the next time I roll through your town. I'm not trying to use or take advantage of any of my customers.

Pete
