A Sarge that sounds almost the same as mine except my wife smokes newports which she's trying to quit! She like's the smell of a few cigars but she will let me know in a heart beat when she doesn't care for one and leaves me by my lonesome. You know it's a two way street and you have to keep wifey happy so you have to meet her halfway...good luckMy evening cigar ritual often included making a cocktail for my wife to sit out on the patio with me, she came to really like the time together and laughs at how I inspect the burn and try to distinguish different flavors. She even tells me when she notices a cigars different aroma. I wouldn't say she likes the smell of them, but she has admitted she is suprised that the cigars I smoke "don't stink" the way she remembered. So, I guess what I am saying is, include her.
Yup..same here. My wife is pretty cool about the whols thing as she loves me and knows it could be something worse. I don't have anyother "bad" habits to say and as long as the smoke isn't in the house she's cool with it. On the weekends she will sometimes even join me and have a small stogie with her glass of wine.No worries about the long post, I'm sure a lot of us have been there, done that!?! LOL My wife is understanding for the most part, but still finds time to give me crap. Mainly when she sees more packages coming in when I'm overflowing in storage the way it is! LOL
Who in the hell are you and what did you do with Jeff!!!!:laugh::stretchgrbe as compassionate and understanding as possible. keep it away from her. there are products that will help. don't giver her any reason to believe that cigars are a big deal...(make her believe SHE is)...downplay your new hobby and everything that goes with it!!
if that doesn't work, eenie meenie miney moe...
No sharing prices with wives. They might band together and we don't need that.
I'll second this. I've been looking at additional life insurance and when asked, I told the agent I smoke cigars maybe once or twice a week. He said that is not considered to be a "smoker" by there standards either and would not be an issue for writing an additional policy. You can tell her this, I work for a large insurance company. We are in the bsuiness of assesing when people will die. Our actuaries have made the determination that 2-3 cigars per week casue no increased risk to ones health. You are not techncally a smoker by our standards.
aw hell, my wife could probably tell you the Oliva, San Cristobal and LAdC prices at Empire faster than Larry can!!!No sharing prices with wives.
My wife and I started doing the same thing several months ago. Now I can hand her a NC and a CC and she almost always can pick the CC from just the pre-light smell and taste. And, yes, she smokes the CC. It has become a time that we both look forward to.My evening cigar ritual often included making a cocktail for my wife to sit out on the patio with me, she came to really like the time together and laughs at how I inspect the burn and try to distinguish different flavors.
